Latest news in brief

There has not been a new Newsletter for some time but the items below show how the season has been progressing.

  1. Saturday the 15th October was quite a day!! We won the Dunlop European TVR Championship outright. A 3rd place in the first race was enough combined with the 4 point lead we took to Oulton Park to clinch it in the first race. Andy Race unfortunately suffered engine maladies in Race 1 and was not claassified. he was unable to start Race 2 so commiserations to him.

  2. The second race at Oulton was not so good. We were involved in a tussle with Perry Wadhams in second and had caught Darren Smith when we reached Lodge on the last lap. An over ambitious attempt round the outside of Perry at Lodge led to a slight touch and Hugh speared backwards into the Deer's Leap tyre wall extensibvely damaging No3 and earning a trip to the medical center where thankfully all was diagnosed as satisfactory.

  3. The seasons tally is therefore 4 wins, 4 seconds a third and a DNF. A really brilliant season for Marshall Motorsport and for M&H Racing. M&H is Pete Mason and Dave Huckle and has engineered our car all season so a heap of thanks to them for all their efforts this year and in advance for the work that will be needed to get No 3 back on track.

  4. The TVR Dinner was held at the Macdonald Hill Valley Spa Hotel at Whitchurch Shropshire on Saturday night the 15th October. It was an excellent evening and a fabulous hotel. We were joined by Dave and Karen Huckle and Peter and Christine Hogg. Dave has engineered the car all season long with Pete Mason who couldn't join us on the night. Peter and Christine have backed our racing for a number of years through Causey Park Farms Ltd in Northumberland and we are really pleased they could find time away from all the activities at Causey Park to be with us.

  5. During the evening Dinner prize giving brought yet another surprise. Dave Stewart and the Stewart family presented th CTS Comtruck Tom Stewart Memorial Cup. We were absolutely knocked backwards to find that Hugh was the first recipient of this superb Award. Tom was such a character, geat competitor and all round nice guy who loved his racing and is sadly missed by all who knew him so this award meant a great deal to us.

  6. The evening also saw Hugh presented with the DETC Class A winners Trophy.

  7. We were able to get the new VW Mini Artic up and running for Oulton and the truck ran very well. There are some items to be carried out on the truck but it drew a lot of comment from those assembled and is an excellent addition to the team. At the time of writing it appears that the old truck will be joining a single seater team for 2012.

  8. We are shortly going to be carrying out some changes on the Website . Hopefully a new newsletter and improvements to the gallery and we are now actively trying to seek support for our championship year so we hope that we may add some hyperlinks to our supporters and partners. Keep your eyes peeled!
